At Owensboro Traditional Tae Kwon Do School, we teach Tae Kwon Do as it was taught to the Koreans. Master Montgomery, who is a 6th Degree Black Belt, Kukiwon Certified, has been teaching in the Owensboro area since 2004 and started his training in August 1993. We teach under the direction of Korean Grandmaster Young Sik Choi, 9th Degree Black Belt, who has many accomplishments including serving as the Presidential Body Guard of South Korea for a time and teaching the Chinese Army Tae Kwon Do. Our classes have a focus on Discipline, Control, Respect, Honesty, Self Control, Integrity, Indomitable Spirit, Confidence and are family focused. Culture, Tradition and some Korean Language is also taught to each student. Our Black Belts have the option of being Kukiwon Certified once they are eligible to test, which is the World Tae Kwon Do Headquarters in Korea. That certification is accepted Worldwide.
We also host two National Level Tournaments a year, one in Central City, KY and one in New Albany, IN. Grandmaster offers a three day summer camp every year for our students and Masters to spend extra time with him to learn culture, language, philosphy and new techniques as well as build a long lasting friendship among us. Each student is encouraged to participate in as many of these events as possible as part of their training and personal development. It has been proven over the years that our black belts grow to become strong community leaders in our own community as well as others, including the United States Military.
In conclusion, I would like to invite you to come watch or participate in our classes to see first hand the many benefits Tae Kwon Do training has to offer. For more information on our association and branch schools, visit www.traditionaltkd.com
